Noah at Therapy

Hey guys, sometimes I think that I post way too much, but there is just so much going on around here all the time, and what fun is it unless you can share it all with the ones you love?

We are gearing up (well it's actually like 3 months away_because it takes so stinkin long to get an appt) to get Noah's second round of botox injections. I am really exciting because Noah made so much progress last time he had them done.

I will explain for those of you who don't know what they are for.....Noah has Cerebral Palsy in his legs and left arm and hand. That is basically just too much tone in those areas. That's why when you see him in pictures, he always has his little left hand pulled in up into his chest. It's also a huge reason why he still can't walk. That and he has very little vision. The botox injections go into the actual muscles and relaxes the muscle so it isn't so tight. It is allows him to move much more freely with less tenseness, It wears off over time about 3 to 6 months, but while it is in effect, it allows Noah to learn new skill. We are really focusing on walking right now, so hopefully it will allow him to get his little heels down and make him more confident.

Here we are at shriners, we go here anywhere from 4 times a month to once every few months, depending on what skill he is learning, and how often his therapists thinks he needs to come in. We are learning some stretches we can do after he gets the botox.

If you look at his little feet, you can see how bad his ankles turn in, he is also getting some new leg braces that will help support him. Botox is set up for end of January.
